Kinderhook OK5k

The 27th Kinderhook OK5K, a certified and chip-timed race, invites runners of all abilities to participate in this community-driven event. Held annually at the picturesque Kinderhook Village Square on Route 9, the race is not just about speed but also about supporting local non-profit organizations through your participation.
Registration fees are $25 until May 31 for the 5K Race, increasing to $30 thereafter. USATF and KRC members enjoy a discount of $5 off their entry fee. Students aged 18 and under can register at a discounted rate of $15 up until May 31, with prices rising to $22 after that date.
The event also features a free one-mile run for children ages 4-12 as well as the D.A.Y.S.I (Differing Abilities Yet So Incredible) dash, which is open and complimentary to all participants. Both events are designed to encourage young runners while promoting inclusivity among kids of various abilities.
Given the limited parking in Kinderhook Village, race participation is capped at 1,100 for the main event, with additional limits set for the Kids Mile (150) and D.A.Y.S.I dash (50). Early registrants who sign up by May 12 are guaranteed a race T-shirt; however, supplies will be available on a first-come-first-served basis after that date.
Packet pickup is conveniently located at James Vanderpoel's House of History at 16 Broad St in Kinderhook. Participants can collect their packets either on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM or Saturday morning between 7:00 and 8:30 AM, before the race starts.
Awards are given for overall male and female winners as well as first, second, and third place in each five-year age group. The Kinderhook OK5K is also a community event where participants can bring food items to donate to the local food pantry on race day, adding an extra layer of giving back to this beloved tradition.
