On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Offohalle Schuttern in Friesenheim will host an exciting day of running with events for all ages. The venue is located at Prinzenstraße 12 and offers a variety of races to cater to different skill levels. The festivities kick off early in the afternoon with the Bambini race starting at 1:00 PM, featuring children aged four to six years old covering an asphalted course of 650 meters. This is followed by the Grundschullauf for primary school students from ages six to ten, who will run a flat and smooth route twice around Schuttern's perimeter, totaling 1300 meters. The main event begins at 3:00 PM with a 10-kilometer race on an asphalted loop within the town of Schuttern. The course is four laps long, each lap measuring 2.5 kilometers for a total distance of 10 kilometers. Participants can also opt for the relay run where teams consisting of two to four runners complete the full 10-kilometer route together. Each team member must cover at least one lap. Competitors in both individual and relay races will benefit from professional timing using chips or staffelstab-chips, ensuring accurate results without any time classifications or individual rankings. The top three finishers in each category receive cash prizes: €150 for first place, €100 for second, and €75 for third in the 10-kilometer race; while relay teams earn up to €100 for first place, €80 for second, and €40 for third. Registration fees are as follows: - Individual 10 km: €8 - School children (Bambini and Grundschullauf): €3 each - Relay team: €16 per team - Hobby runners in the 5-kilometer race: €5 Participants can register either online or on-site. The total number of participants is capped at 400, with a deadline for online registration set for September 25th, 2026, at midnight. Race day offers various amenities including professional timing services, pacers and broomsweeping assistance along the course, refreshments, and finisher medals for all Bambini and Grundschullauf participants. Post-race festivities include a friendly gathering with flame pizza, coffee, cakes, fries, grilled sausages, as well as changing rooms equipped with showers. Parking is available at Friesenheim railway station or near the cemetery; however, vehicles must not be parked along the race route to ensure smooth competition flow and safety for all runners.
