About the Event

History: Several years ago, Kristy began a tradition of completing random acts of kindness to bring joy to others between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year. In September, 2021, Kristy suddenly passed away. To honor her memory, a foundation (Kristy's Kindness) was created with the mission of doing random acts of kindness not only during the holiday season, but for the whole year. Location: The 5K will begin at the most recent school Kristy worked at, Lebhart Elementary (807 Coolidge), on the playground. A moment of silence and announcements will begin at 7:20 AM with the race beginning at 7:30 AM. Check-in/Packet Pick Up: Packets will be available Friday, July 18th 2:00-5:00 PM at Foot of the Rockies and on race day (July 19) from 6:30-7:15 AM at Lebhart Elementary. Virtual runners will have their packets mailed when the final pieces of "swag" arrive. Course Description: The mostly flat out-and back course begins at Lebhart Elementary School and joins the Cheyenne Greenway System. Runners will run on the greenway and then turn around at our "kindness point" and return to Lebhart Elementary for an optional celebration of Kristy.
