Kung Björnloppet, hosted by Uppsala Löparklubben (ULK), invites runners of all ages and skill levels to participate in this scenic trail race on September 19th, 2026. The event celebrates family involvement with a variety of races for children as well as adults. The main venue is OK Linnés klubbgård at Tallbacksvägen 68 in Norby, where the trails wind through the natural reserve Hågadalen/Nåsten. This picturesque setting offers runners an immersive experience amidst lush greenery and serene landscapes. Race Day activities kick off with late registration starting at 9:00 AM for adults and continuing up to one hour before each race start time; children's races allow a half-hour grace period. The youngest participants can take part in the Mini Kung Björn, a fun-filled run of approximately 600 meters designed specifically for kids aged seven or under. For slightly older runners, the Lilla Kung Björn offers a more challenging route covering about 1400 meters and is open to children up to twelve years old. Adults have their choice between two main races: a 10-kilometer run starting at noon and a shorter but equally scenic 6-kilometer option beginning shortly after. Both courses feature a mix of gravel paths, forest trails, and some stretches of asphalt for variety and challenge. In addition to these options, there is also the Kung Björn Trail race, approximately five kilometers long and primarily set within the woodland terrain. Throughout each course, participants will find water stations strategically placed at key intervals along with a final hydration point near the finish line. The event concludes around 1:30 PM with prize distribution ceremonies for top performers in various age groups as well as raffles among all competitors who have completed their respective races. Registration fees vary depending on when they are submitted, ranging from SEK 295 to SEK 395 for adult classes and a lower cost of SEK 95 or SEK 125 for the children's events. Those with gift vouchers can register via email at kb.loppet@gmail.com. All finishers will receive commemorative medals as an incentive, while results from the event are promptly published on ULK’s website and social media platforms following race day. Spectators and runners alike should be aware that there is limited space for changing clothes near the venue; therefore, coming dressed in your running gear or having access to a vehicle nearby might be advisable. Parking is available at the site with a small fee, though public transportation options such as bus line 7 from Hpl Malma Bergsväg are recommended alternatives. A kiosk on-site will offer refreshments and light snacks for those looking to refuel before or after their run. B

About Uppsala
Learn more about the host city, Uppsala.
Uppsala is a university city in Sweden. While Uppsala sometimes stands in the shade of Stockholm it maintains a sophisticated identity of its own. Compared to the Swedish capital, Uppsala is less frantic, with more of a small-town atmosphere, influenced by the student culture and academic traditions of Uppsala University. It has a 16th-century castle, a 15th-century Gothic cathedral, and 11th-century rune stones. It is the country's fourth-largest city.
