Join the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers of Grand-Fougeray for an unforgettable day at their annual La Boucle du Feu, scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026. This unique event combines a spirit of camaraderie with a substantial charitable cause as participants run or walk around a scenic five-kilometer loop in Grand-Fougeray.
The race begins at the Hippodrome de Grand-Fougeray and allows runners to complete as many laps as they can over a four-hour period. Whether you are an experienced runner, casual jogger, or someone who prefers brisk walking, everyone is welcome to participate at their own pace in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Pupilles des Sapeurs-Pompiers de France Foundation, which supports children of firefighters who have passed away or are facing difficult circumstances. For every lap completed by participants, one euro is donated directly to the foundation.
The course itself offers varied terrain with natural trails, private paths, and communal roads throughout Grand-Fougeray. It will be clearly marked and secured for safety, ensuring a smooth experience for all who take part. Participants are encouraged to follow the route carefully and adhere to guidance from volunteers along the way.
Registration fees cover the cost of a timing chip attached to your shoe, allowing electronic tracking of each lap completed throughout the event. Additionally, you'll receive a refreshment upon arrival, access to food stations during breaks at the start/finish line, and a traditional galette-saucisse (savory crepe with sausage).
The top three finishers will be awarded based on total number of laps run within the four-hour window. To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, participants must comply with local traffic laws when necessary.
This eco-friendly event promotes respect for nature by requiring all attendees to properly dispose of waste in designated collection areas along the route. Any behavior that violates these guidelines may result in disqualification from participation.
Photographs and videos taken during La Boucle du Feu will be used on social media, websites, promotional materials, and local press outlets to celebrate this significant community event.
