La Corrida de Quimper - 29ème édition

Experience the festive spirit of Quimper with La Corrida, an annual running event that takes over the historic streets of this charming Breton city on December 27, 2026. This year’s edition promises to be a highlight of the holiday season as runners weave through ancient cobblestone pathways and past picturesque rivers like the Steir and Odet.
The race features two main categories: Corrida and Grande Corrida. The Corrida is a shorter event, covering approximately 3 kilometers in one or two loops depending on age category, while the Grande Corrida stretches over about 4.5 kilometers with three laps for participants aged ten years and older.
Both races start near the heart of Quimper's old town, where runners will pass by centuries-old half-timbered houses that date back to the Renaissance era, culminating at the majestic Saint-Corentin Cathedral. The Corrida begins promptly at 19:15, followed by the Grande Corrida starting at 20:15.
The event draws a crowd of around 5,000 enthusiastic spectators who cheer on runners as they navigate through historic sites and vibrant neighborhoods. In addition to competitive racing, La Corrida encourages creativity with its best costume contest; participants are invited to let their imagination run wild with unique disguises that can earn them special recognition.
At the start of the race, each runner receives a packet containing various items such as medals or other memorabilia. A raffle will also be held at the conclusion of both races based on registration numbers, adding an extra layer of excitement for participants and spectators alike.
Registration fees are set to 15.20 euros for the Grande Corrida (including 1.20 euro processing fee) and 13 euros for the standard Corrida (with a 1-euro handling charge). After December 1, prices increase slightly to 16.20 euros.
