About the Event

On December 13, 2026, runners and walkers will converge on the charming village of Galargues, France for La Montée de la Pène. This annual event offers two courses: a challenging 7 km run and an equally scenic 7 km walk. Participants can look forward to navigating through picturesque countryside dotted with olive groves and vineyards as they make their way up to the historic hilltop village of Galargues.
The race route winds its way past ancient stone houses, offering glimpses into traditional French rural life. As runners ascend towards the finish line near the church in the heart of Galargues, the atmosphere is electric with local support and festive music playing from nearby stalls. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a casual walker, La Montée de la Pène promises breathtaking views and an unforgettable experience amidst the rolling hills of southern France.
For those seeking a more leisurely pace, the walking event provides ample opportunity to soak in the scenic beauty at a relaxed tempo while enjoying the camaraderie with fellow participants. Both events conclude with post-race festivities that celebrate Galargues' rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality.
