Nestled within the scenic boundaries of the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, runners can choose from five distinct courses: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, and an adventurous 50K. The race begins at approximately 4,500 feet above sea level in a high desert landscape that is rich with Joshua Trees, Pinion-Juniper woodlands, fragrant Mountain Rose bushes, and expansive Sagebrush fields.
As the route winds through the rugged canyon terrain, runners will encounter the lush Toiyabe National Forest—a verdant oasis not typically associated with the arid surroundings of Las Vegas. This forest provides a refreshing change in scenery, featuring cooler temperatures that are about 10 degrees lower than those found in the valley below. The twisting and turning roads offer both challenge and beauty as they snake through this natural wonderland.
Participants will experience diverse vegetation and stunning vistas along each course, making for an unforgettable running adventure amidst nature’s splendor.
