LaSport Cycling club is bringing a 3 race mini series focused on getting beginners into MTB racing! Each race will be held at 1 North Adventure Trails in Blanchard and designed to pass through viewing areas numerous times allowing for spectators to participate int he fun as much as possible.
Each category will have male/female division. First Time Racer, Novice (Cat 3), Sport (Cat 2), and Expert (Cat 1). There will be an open division for Ebikes as well, Class 1 only.
Race 1 May 9th, will be a Crit style race on dirt mixing fast open double track around the lake with flowy single track. It will be roughly a 3 mile loop. First Time Racer - 2 Laps, Novice -3 Laps, EBike and Sport - 4 Laps, Expert - 5 Laps.
Race 2 June 13th, will be on one of the green loops to add a little bit of technical feel to the race while still being smooth enough trail and short enough distance that the racers can focus on the basics while still pushing their limits. We may have a unique twist to be announced on this race also.
Race 3 July 25th, will be styled after a traditional XC style race utilizing more of the trail systems. Distances TBD.
We want to gear this race series for newcomers and beginners to help build confidence and experience in order to grow our local cycling community and bring interest into the regional circuits around NWLA.
