On Saturday, June 6th, the "trail and duathlon" event combines two rarely associated disciplines: running or hiking in nature and road cycling. Participants are free to choose one or both. The municipalities of Theux, Spa, Stavelot, Aywaille, and Stoumont offer some of Belgium's most beautiful natural landscapes, both in the forest, such as the Ninglinspo Valley, and on the road, with its legendary climbs made famous by the Liège-Bastogne-Liège cycling race. This June 6th, the unique "Assault of the Maquisard" event will allow you to discover these two natural gems.
Starting from the Liège University of Applied Sciences and Arts in La Reid (Theux), five trail running distances are offered, three of which are open to walkers, and four duathlons. The distances cater to beginners (30km bike ride, e-bikes accepted, participants in the "I run/walk for fitness" category) as well as experienced runners who can tackle, for example, the 40km trail run or the "2500m D+" duathlon, which combines 70km cycling and 25km running.
In 2026, all starts are scheduled for the morning, as requested in the post-race survey in 2025.
