Last Dot Standing and 24/48 Hour by Ten Junk Miles
About the Event
Last Dot Standing is an unconventional endurance challenge that invites runners to experience a unique twist on the traditional last person standing format. The race takes place over several days, starting at Belleville Community Park in Belleville, Wisconsin, and culminates with participants running between the park and Dots Tavern, a charming 70-year-old establishment located just off the trail. The core event begins early on September 18th when runners must complete a one-hour sprint to cover 4.2 miles from Belleville Community Park to Dots Tavern. Once there, they have another hour to return back to the starting point in Belleville. This pattern repeats every hour until only one runner remains standing. The route is not an out-and-back; rather, participants run either towards or away from Dot's Tavern each time. For those who prefer a less intense schedule but still want to challenge themselves over longer distances, there are two 24-hour races starting on September 18th and 19th, as well as a grueling 48-hour race beginning the same day. These events allow runners to traverse the course between Belleville Community Park and Dots Tavern repeatedly without adhering to strict hourly deadlines. Participants in these multi-day challenges can earn finisher's buckles for completing specific mileage goals: 100, 150, or 200 miles. In addition to the physical challenge, runners who reach certain milestones will receive special prizes and recognition among their peers. The event also includes a competitive element with prize money awarded based on registration fees collected from participants in the Last Person Standing category. The last person standing wins half of 25% of total registration fees, while first female and male finishers share equally from that percentage as well. For those who prefer to support rather than compete, volunteer opportunities are available throughout the park and at Dots Tavern during all race days. Joining the TJM Gang on-site provides a chance to cheer on runners or simply enjoy the atmosphere without running. To ensure you receive full swag and finisher's awards, be sure to register by September 1st of the previous year. Military personnel, veterans, and first responders are eligible for discounted registration rates—contact tjmracing@gmail.com for more information and a discount code. Last Dot Standing offers something unique for every level of runner, whether you're looking for an intense hour-by-hour challenge or prefer to push your limits over multiple days.
