On Saturday, October 10th, 2026, the Côte d'Emeraude Fire Station transforms into an exhilarating hub of sports and nature for runners and hikers alike. This afternoon promises to be rich with emotion for all ages. The event features three distinct challenges: a grand trail covering 22 kilometers with 310 meters of elevation gain, a shorter trail measuring 10 kilometers with 175 meters of climb, and a leisurely 10-kilometer hike. Each route has been meticulously redesigned to offer breathtaking views and challenging terrain. The grand trail starts at 1:45 PM, taking runners through the entire length of the Bay of La Fresnaye. The course features scenic passages under the Viaduc de Port-Nieux and includes two hydration stations located strategically at the 11th kilometer mark near a picturesque viewpoint over Fort la Latte and another at the 17th kilometer, offering runners a chance to rest their legs. The shorter trail and hike begin just after 2:00 PM. These routes also wind through the Bay of La Fresnaye but include unique highlights like crossing the ruins of Moulin de la Mer, providing an immersive experience for participants. For those looking to support a good cause, this year's Kermithon event will be celebrating its tenth anniversary by supporting the Pupilles des Sapeurs-Pompiers de France. This association helps orphans and families affected by firemen who are either injured or deceased in their line of duty. Participants can enjoy refreshments at various points along both trails, ensuring they stay energized throughout their journey. The event also offers a first aid demonstration area for all ages to learn essential life-saving techniques. The race starts and finishes at the Côte d'Emeraude Fire Station located at 24 Le Houët, Matignon, providing easy access to parking and facilities. On-site registration is available depending on availability, making it convenient for latecomers who want to join in the fun. With its blend of challenging terrain and stunning coastal scenery, this event promises an unforgettable experience for runners and nature enthusiasts alike. Don't miss out – come be a part of the excitement at Kermithon 2026!
