The second edition of the Saint-Yrieix sur Charente Ekiden offers runners an exhilarating relay experience that spans the full marathon distance. Each team comprises six members, running legs of 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, 10 km, and finally a concluding leg of 7.195 km. This event welcomes young athletes born in or after 2013 to participate in any of the three middle-distance relays.
The race takes place on a flat, fast-paced 5-kilometer loop through picturesque suburban areas and countryside near Saint-Yrieix sur Charente, providing competitors with an enjoyable and scenic route. The event is recognized as Bronze Label by local sporting authorities and serves as part of the regional championship calendar.
Registration for this exciting relay race opens early to allow teams to take advantage of reduced rates. All entries must be completed online via Ikinoa no later than October 11th at midnight, with any modifications also needing to adhere to these deadlines. Teams should ensure they are fully constituted before submitting their applications and include valid FFA license numbers for discounted fees.
The cost structure is designed to accommodate both licensed athletes and non-members. For the first fifty teams composed entirely of FFA-licensed runners, the fee remains at €72 per team. Additional costs apply for each unregistered member; a fully amateur team will pay €84 in total. As more slots fill up beyond 50 entries, prices adjust incrementally to reflect demand.
