On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Run In Ré invites runners to the second edition of "The Rétaine Escape," an exhilarating charity race on the island of Ré. This year's event aims to raise funds for Bouger contre la SLA and promises a scenic journey through some of the most picturesque landscapes in France.
Participants will embark upon two challenging courses, each offering unique terrain and breathtaking vistas: a 10-kilometer route and an extended 20-kilometer adventure. The shorter course begins at 2:15 PM, while runners opting for the longer distance take off just fifteen minutes earlier at 2:00 PM.
Both routes wind through pristine beaches, coastal paths, dense forests, and charming rural roads that encapsulate Ré’s natural beauty and charm. Runners can expect to feel the sand beneath their feet as they start along the shoreline before transitioning onto winding trails lined with lush vegetation and historic sites.
The event not only celebrates the island's rich heritage but also supports a noble cause by raising awareness for motor neuron disease, specifically amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
