On September 13th, the Rotary Club of Pessac–Les Graves invites you to join their solidarity run and walk on the University Campus of Pessac. This unique event is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, a cause that affects us all yet remains too often overlooked.
Whether you're an occasional runner or a committed walker, this inclusive event welcomes everyone at any fitness level. The focus isn't on performance but on participation and support for those living with mental illness. All proceeds from the day will go directly to UNAFAM (National Union of Families and Friends of Mentally Ill Persons), which has been supporting families across France since 1963.
The event features a scenic 5.5 km loop through the heart of Pessac's University Campus, starting at 10:00 AM for runners and 10:05 AM for walkers from the athletics track on Rocquencourt Road. The course is easily accessible via public transport or car parks near the Stade d'Athlétisme.
Participants can enjoy a warm-up session beginning at 9:45 AM, followed by post-race festivities including medal presentations and raffle draws at 11:30 AM. There will also be live music from a DJ and an exhibitor village offering information on mental health resources throughout the day until 2 PM.
Food trucks and refreshment stands will provide sustenance for both participants and spectators, ensuring everyone can enjoy a full morning of community engagement and support.
