On August 30, 2026, the UAC Savenay will host the 31st edition of Foulées du Sillon, an annual running event that caters to runners with varying levels of experience and endurance. The day promises a scenic route through picturesque landscapes near Savenay. The highlight of this year’s event is the Trail du Sillon, a challenging trail run covering a distance of 31 kilometers. With a total elevation gain of 700 meters, participants will navigate rugged terrain starting at 8:30 AM, with only 350 spots available to ensure an intimate and focused race experience. The route features two intermediate checkpoints where runners can restock on essentials before reaching the finish line for their final resupply. For those looking for a less intense but equally rewarding challenge, Foulées du Sillon offers a 18-kilometer course with a modest elevation gain of 240 meters. This race begins at 9:00 AM and accommodates up to 550 runners. It includes one mid-race resupply station along the way. The event also features the Sillonnette, an 8-kilometer run designed for beginners or those seeking a shorter distance option. With an elevation gain of 170 meters, it starts at 10:30 AM and is limited to 300 runners. This race does not offer mid-race resupply stations but ensures participants have access to water and refreshments upon completion. All races commence from the Eloi Ménélec Stadium in Savenay, providing a central location for all competitors regardless of which distance they choose. Race organizers emphasize sustainability by encouraging participants to bring their own reusable cups at checkpoints rather than using disposable ones. Registration opens on May 1st exclusively for FFA-licensed runners and expands to include non-FFA members from May 17th onwards, with the option to sign up until August 28th. Participants must provide proof of a valid license or an attestation showing completion of the French Athletics Federation's health prevention course. The event is not only about competition but also supports a charitable cause by donating €0.50 from each registration fee to the blood donation association, making your participation meaningful beyond personal achievement. Race numbers can be collected at designated locations on August 28th and 29th or directly at the stadium starting early in the morning of race day. The timing system will use chip technology provided by Breiz Chrono for accurate results. In case public health regulations necessitate cancellation, all participants’ fees will be refunded minus processing costs to ensure financial security for entrants. The Foulées du Sillon offers a unique blend of scenic beauty and competitive spirit, inviting runners from across the region to experience this memorable event.
