The Silver Moon Race is where runners of all levels come to chase big goals and have an unforgettable adventure chasing miles under the full moon and stars. Elevate your running and endurance on a gorgeous course through Central California’s orchards and vineyards along the Kings River. Your challenge, your pace, your night.
Whether you’re stepping up from half marathons or diving into the world of ultras, or going for your first 100-mile buckle, this race gives you the perfect environment to push your endurance and discover what you’re capable of.
Timed on the weekend closest to the full moon, the race begins at sunset and carries you through a night lit by moonlight and stars into the sunrise on the horizon. It’s a uniquely magical experience that keeps runners coming back year after year.
Choose the challenge that fits your journey—12K, 20K, 40K distances, or 6, 12, 24-hour time categories, or go for the ultimate endurance challenge of 100 miles in 30-hours, run it solo or with friends in a 2, 3, or 4‑person team relay. Running through a beautiful farm setting along the Kings River on a fast, scenic 2.5‑mile loop designed for flow, comfort, and confidence.
Whether you’re a first-time runner, a seasoned ultra runner, or just looking to have a great time outdoors with awesome people, the Silver Moon Race has something to match your fitness level and goals. Prepare for a one-of-a-kind race experience!
Take on the challenge solo or team up with your crew for a relay race that turns into a full‑blown adventure. Teams of 2, 3, or 4 rotate through laps and chase a shared goal—whether you’re chasing a set distance or stacking as many laps as you can before the clock hits zero. It’s the perfect blend of teamwork, strategy, and unforgettable race‑day vibes with good friends.
When you’re not on the course, you’re right in the heart of the action at your camp. Set up your home base on the course, cheer on your teammates, grab food, relax, and cheer on runners. The off‑course moments become part of the fun—laughing with friends, swapping stories, and gearing up for your next lap.
This is running reimagined into a magical full moon running experience. Designed by runners, for runners, in a fully supported lap race built so you can go as long as you want, with easy access to your homebase camp and a fully stocked checkpoint every time you loop through.
Every detail is meticulously planned, ensuring seamless race flow, an epic mega aid station, and passionate volunteers cheering you on deep into the night. When you cross that finish line, you’ll earn creative medals that celebrate your grit and make this race one you’ll never forget.
