Lilliesleaf 10K Run – A Scenic Journey Through Riddell Estate
Join runners of all ages for the Lilliesleaf 10K Run, set to take place on Sunday, October 18th, 2026 at 11am. Organized by Harris Trust as an annual fundraising event, this race offers a unique off-road experience through the picturesque Riddell Estate. The route winds its way across fields and tracks, offering breathtaking views of both the Eildon and Cheviot Hills.
Participants can look forward to navigating hilly terrain that challenges endurance while immersing them in natural beauty. With an entry fee based on a 'pay what you can' donation system, the event aims for inclusivity by welcoming runners from all backgrounds who wish to contribute to charity through their efforts.
This family-friendly race welcomes everyone, with children under 16 requiring adult supervision. Dogs are also invited but must be kept on leashes throughout the course. Walkers will join the route alongside runners, creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for participants of various abilities.
Limited to just 200 runners due to space constraints within the estate’s trails, spots fill up quickly on a first-come-first-served basis. Prizes are awarded in several categories: overall male and female winners, veterans over 50 (male/female), under-16 competitors (male/female), and for those running with their dogs.
The race is governed by Scottish Hill Runner rules to ensure safety and fair play throughout the event. Registration opens at 10am at Currie Memorial Hall on Main Street in Lilliesleaf, TD6 9HX. A brief pre-race meeting will be held at 10:55 am before setting off from Leaf Green near the village hall.
After crossing the finish line back at Leaf Green, participants can enjoy post-event refreshments provided by enthusiastic volunteers at Currie Memorial Hall. The menu includes free homemade soup and bread, perfect for warming up after a challenging run or walk through Riddell Estate’s scenic landscapes.
