Trail runners prepare for an endurance challenge like no other at Linacre Reservoirs, nestled in the picturesque wooded valley of Chesterfield. This timed trail race invites participants to navigate its well-marked course and conquer its varied terrain over six hours.
The route winds through a stunning landscape that transitions seamlessly with each season, offering breathtaking views around every corner. Each lap covers 4.6 kilometers along maintained trails and footpaths, featuring gentle climbs that add an extra layer of challenge for runners aiming to rack up multiple laps.
Registration opens at Linacre Reservoirs on Woodnook Lane from 8am to 8:45 am, with parking available for a fee of £3.50. The event kicks off promptly at 9am and concludes by 3pm, allowing participants ample time to push their limits while enjoying the scenic surroundings.
Competitors will pass through checkpoints every lap where they can fuel up on both sweet and savory snacks as well as hydrate with water, squash, and coke. A medal is awarded to all finishers, along with special prizes for those who complete the most laps in each gender category.
Medical support is provided throughout the course and at race headquarters, ensuring runners' safety while they push their boundaries. Additionally, participants have the option of purchasing XCover insurance, offering a refund should unforeseen circumstances prevent them from attending on race day.
