Round 3 of the Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross Association (Lincs CX) season welcomes riders from around the world to its vibrant and challenging course. Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just starting out, this race offers something for everyone. Entry into Round 3 opens six weeks before the event date, making it accessible not only to local members but also to cyclists from other regions who wish to join in the fun. To participate, all riders must be registered with the Lincs CX Association through a RiderHQ account and apply for league membership on their website. The race day features various categories designed to cater to different levels of experience and age groups: - Novice Race: For those new to cyclo-cross or feeling hesitant about trying it out, this category is perfect. It's open to anyone aged 12 years old and above with no prior race experience in the sport. All novice riders will compete together, starting two minutes behind faster youth categories. Riders can use any off-road bike they prefer—cyclocross, gravel, or mountain bikes are all welcome (balance bikes and unicycles excluded). This category is a great way to learn about cyclo-cross without pressure; there are no podiums, prizes, or competition involved, just an opportunity for fun and learning. Race officials will be on hand to provide support and feedback. - Youth Races: The youth categories include the U14/U16 race at 30 minutes in length, followed by a shorter but equally exciting event for younger riders—the U9 category lasting between 10 to 12 minutes and the U12 category running from 12 to 15 minutes. - Open Juniors, Seniors & Masters: The main events of the day are the open categories which start at noon. Both male and female juniors, seniors, and masters will compete in a thrilling race that lasts for 50 minutes each. These races offer competitive opportunities with podiums and prizes awarded based on performance. The Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross Association is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where cyclists of all abilities can enjoy the unique challenges of cyclo-cross racing amidst scenic countryside settings. Come join us in celebrating this dynamic sport, whether you're a seasoned competitor or just looking for your first taste of off-road cycling excitement. This event promises not only challenging courses but also a supportive community atmosphere that encourages learning and enjoyment.
