Lincolnshire Cyclo-cross Association 2026/2027 Race #1 (Lincoln Cycle Club) - 20th Sept 2026 Hanworth Country Park
About the Event
The Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross Association kicks off its 2026/27 season with an inclusive and welcoming Round 1 race. Open to riders from around the globe, this event offers a platform for both seasoned competitors and newcomers alike. To participate, all you need is a RiderHQ account where you can register as a member of the Lincs CX Association. Membership requirements are straightforward, allowing anyone regardless of location to enter races. Entry opens six weeks before each race date, giving participants ample time to prepare. The novice category welcomes riders aged 12 and over who have little or no experience with cyclo-cross racing. This relaxed environment encourages those hesitant about trying the sport for the first time. Riders can use any off-road bike—cyclocross, gravel, mountain—but balance bikes and unicycles are not permitted. The race day features a range of categories designed to cater to various skill levels: - Youth U14/U16: A 30-minute race starting at 10:15 AM. - Novice Race: Another 30-minute event beginning two minutes after the youth category, offering an ideal setting for beginners and those looking to ease into cyclo-cross racing. - Junior Races (U9 & U12): Shorter races tailored specifically for younger riders. The U9 race is a quick 10-12 minute sprint starting at 11:00 AM, while the U12 event runs from 11:20 to 11:35 AM. - Open Juniors, Seniors & Masters: A challenging 50-minute race for more experienced riders kicks off at noon. - Female Juniors, Seniors & Masters: Immediately following the open category is a dedicated female event of equal duration and intensity. In addition to these races, novice participants will benefit from on-site support and feedback from officials, ensuring they receive guidance throughout their experience. This race provides an excellent opportunity for both new riders and seasoned competitors to enjoy the unique challenges and camaraderie that cyclo-cross racing offers. This event is not just about competition; it's a celebration of cycling culture in Lincolnshire, where participants can learn, grow, and have fun as they navigate through varied terrain. Whether you're an experienced racer or someone who’s always wanted to try out the sport, this round promises to be an exciting start to the season.
