About the Event
The Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross Association kicks off its 2026/27 season with Round 1 on January 3, 2027. This inaugural race welcomes riders from around the globe and is open to all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to cyclocross, this event offers an inclusive environment for everyone. Registration opens six weeks before the event date, allowing ample time for both local and out-of-area participants to sign up through RiderHQ. Once registered on the Lincs CX Association’s platform, riders can easily enter their desired race categories without geographical restrictions. For those new to cyclocross or hesitant about racing, a Novice Race is specifically designed for beginners aged 12 and above with no prior race experience in this discipline. This category encourages learning through fun competition on off-road bikes including cyclo-cross, gravel, or mountain (balance bikes and unicycles are not permitted). Riders will have the opportunity to receive guidance from officials throughout their 30-minute ride. The Novice Race starts at 10:17 AM, preceded by a youth race for U14/U16 riders beginning at 10:15 AM. Following this, there's an event for younger participants with races scheduled for the U9 and U12 categories at 11:00 AM and 11:20 AM respectively. The day culminates in a more competitive setting with OPEN Juniors, Seniors & Masters race starting at noon followed by a dedicated Female category immediately after. Both these events run for 50 minutes each, offering challenging terrain that showcases the versatility of cyclocross racing. This event promises an engaging and supportive atmosphere where newcomers can develop their skills while seasoned athletes push themselves against varied challenges on the course.
