Litton Christmas Cracker

Dive into a festive and exhilarating run around Miller’s Dale and Cressbrook from Litton Village. This charming 11.8km route offers runners scenic views of the countryside, with an elevation gain of approximately 510 meters.
The event kicks off at 11am sharp in Litton Village Hall (SK17 8QX), where registration opens early at 9:00 am and closes half an hour before start time. Participants are encouraged to car share due to limited parking near the village hall, ensuring a smooth entry into this spirited event.
As you set off on your run, prepare for a course that winds through beautiful landscapes, challenging runners with varied terrain and elevation changes. Upon reaching the finish line at Red Lion Inn, enjoy refreshments such as mulled wine, tea, coffee, and mince pies that will be available there. The inn also provides toilet facilities for runners.
Prizes are up for grabs with individual awards given in categories including M Open, F Open, MU23, FU23, M40, F40, M50, F50, M60, F60, M70, and F70. Team prizes will also be awarded to the top three teams competing.
This race is licensed by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) and adheres strictly to their rules. Important regulations include no GPS navigation or poles allowed during the run, as well as a strict ban on running with dogs. Disqualification may result from any rule infringements discovered after the event.
The current course records stand at 44:54 minutes for men set by Greg Hopkinson and 54:19 minutes for women held by Joanne Mosley in 2025, both members of renowned local clubs.
