Welcome to the 2026 Off Road Triathlon Festival at Lochore Meadows Country Park, set for Sunday, October 4th. This scenic and challenging festival offers four distinct events: the Gravel Bike wave, Full Distance triathlon, Short Distance triathlon, Aquabike, and Duathlon. ### Registration Registration will take place from 7:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the White Marquee behind the new park center building. Detailed pre-race information including a race briefing will be sent out via email in the week leading up to the event. ### Gravel Bike Wave (New Addition) Starting at 8:45 AM, this exciting wave features a 500-meter swim in Loch Ore's clear waters, followed by an exhilarating 21-kilometer gravel bike ride. The bike route includes three laps of varied terrain with technical sections that are not overly challenging but offer plenty of adventure. Participants will then tackle a mixed-terrain run covering 5 kilometers around the hilly Clune and an ancient iron-age fort. ### Full Distance Triathlon Starting at 10:15 AM, this event offers a grueling yet rewarding experience with a 1-kilometer swim in Loch Ore, followed by a 14.4-kilometer mountain bike ride over three laps of scenic trails including White Woods and Chapel Chase. The course includes small technical sections that add excitement without being overly difficult. Participants then complete the race with a mixed-terrain run covering 5 kilometers around Clune. ### Short Distance Triathlon Starting at 11:10 AM, this event is perfect for newcomers or those looking to ease into longer distances. It features a 500-meter swim in Loch Ore and a 9.6-kilometer mountain bike ride over two laps of the same trails as the full distance course. The run concludes with a mixed-terrain 3-kilometer loop around Clune. ### Aquabike Starting at 10:15 AM alongside the Full Distance Triathlon, this event is ideal for those who prefer cycling to running or are recovering from injury. It includes a 1-kilometer swim in Loch Ore followed by a 14.4-kilometer mountain bike ride over three laps. ### Duathlon Starting at 10:50 AM, the Off-Road Duathlon is designed for runners who enjoy cycling but want to avoid swimming. Participants start with a mixed-terrain 5-kilometer run around Clune and an ancient iron-age fort, followed by a fast-flowing 14.4-kilometer mountain bike ride over three laps of scenic trails. ### Relay Teams Relay teams will compete in the Full Distance event starting at 10:15 AM with each team member completing segments that include swimming, biking, and running legs as detailed above. ### Event Highlights - Swimming: All events feature a swim segment in Loch Ore's clear waters. Wetsuits are mandatory due to open water conditions. - Biking: Mountain bikes or cross/gravel bikes without drop handlebars are recommended for safety reasons. - Running: Enjoy scenic routes that offer varied terrain, including hills and historic sites. ### Post-Race All participants will receive a post-race drink and snack along with a race memento.
