Join us for the third annual Lost Sierra Endurance Race, set against the breathtaking backdrop of California's northern Sierra Nevada on Saturday, July 25, 2026. This trail race offers three distinct distances: 25K, 50K, and a grueling 100K ultra, each designed to challenge runners with diverse terrain and stunning scenery. The flagship event is the 100K out-and-back course that begins in historic Downieville and ventures north through Plumas-Eureka State Park before turning back. This route follows legendary trails like Third Divide, Pacific Crest Trail, and Lakes Basin Trails, offering a raw and remote adventure with thousands of feet of elevation gain. Runners must carry essential items such as a headlamp, space blanket, and water bottle due to the course's remoteness. Pacers are allowed from Aid #5 (mile 30) or later at Aid #2 (mile 47). The race features nine aid stations along its challenging route. The 50K is a point-to-point adventure starting in Plumas-Eureka State Park, near Blairsden, and ending back in Downieville. Runners will shuttle from Downieville to the start location at $12 per person or with personal transportation. This distance offers four aid stations along its technical terrain of mountain lakes, granite ridges, and dense forest trails. For those looking for a taste of this rugged beauty without committing to an ultra-distance race, the 25K is ideal. Starting and finishing in Downieville, it takes runners through river canyons on First, Second, and Third Divide Trails with two water stops along the way. All distances are known for their scenic views and demanding terrain, pushing participants both physically and mentally while celebrating at a post-race party upon completion. The event is presented by Bad Luck Run Club, emphasizing community support and unity through initiatives like "The Unity Initiative," where donations to local nonprofits can earn future race discounts and be matched up to 25% of the registration fee. Experience the raw beauty and challenge of California's Sierra Nevada in Downieville on July 25, 2026.
