Loudoun Serenity House - 5K Run/Walk for Recovery

Welcome to the 2025 Annual 5K Run (or Walk) for Recovery for the Loudoun Serenity House. We are grateful for your support!

Pre-Run Packet Pickup: Recovery Community Center 29 N King Street Leesburg VA. Parking at Pennington Lot (3 blocks away) is free. M-F 9-5 the week prior to the race.

In-Person Fun Run (non-sanctioned run): Morven Park May 10 (8am to 12pm), group run at 9am. 17339 Southern Planter Ln, Leesburg VA.

Now more than ever we need your support to provide safe, supportive and affordable peer-based community center and residential services to women, men and families striving for their best life, a substance free life, free from dependency on alcohol and drugs. This run supports both Groups/Teams and Fundraisers.  Please consider creating both when you register and use the same name for both to make it clear for others joining you.  Groups are a collection of runners participating in the run.  Fundraiser is for collecting donations in support of a group or individual.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Can I complete the 5K by walking?
   • Yes, you can run, walk, bike or swim (at another location) to complete the "run". We will have a route identified for the in-person run/walk at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA.
2. Is this a "sanctioned" race?
   • No, the Run for Recovery is a fun run. There will not be official time keeping at the in-person run
3. When can I run the in-person run at Morven Park?
   • Loudoun Serenity House will be there from 8am-12pm. A group run is planned for 9 am, but you can run at anytime.
4. Will food/drinks be provided?
   • Loudoun Serenity House will provide water and snacks pre-run and a picnic lunch post-run. Bring a chair or picnic blanket. 
5. Can I bring my dog?
   • Yes, Please do! Please follow all park rules.
6. What is Path to Purpose in the Logo?
   • Path to Purpose is a new 3-year program launched by Loudoun Serenity House with a grant from SAHMSA. It offers FREE peer-based mentoring, education, and personal advocacy services aimed at empowering individuals on their journey of recovery from Substance Use Disorder. Please ask us for more details at the run!
