LoveNatureRun's Backyard Ultra 2026

Welcome to the LoveNatureRun Backyard Ultra 2026, an exhilarating and unique running challenge that has captivated athletes around the globe. This unconventional race tests endurance through repeated loops of approximately 4 miles (6.7 kilometers) every hour until just one runner remains standing.
The event takes place in Annebjerg Forest, located in Odsherred, offering a serene setting for this grueling competition. Participants can set up camp at the sheltered base area or bring their own tents and pavilions to rest between loops. The venue provides access to water and basic facilities like compost toilets, ensuring comfort amidst the challenge.
Each loop through Annebjerg Forest is diverse and demanding, featuring a mix of wide paths and narrow trails winding through various woodland landscapes. With an elevation gain of roughly 120 meters per lap, runners face both flat stretches and hilly terrain that keep them on their toes throughout the event. The course's varied scenery adds to its allure, making each loop feel like a new adventure.
The race begins at noon on October 17th, with participants expected to complete their first six loops during daylight hours before transitioning into night runs under headlamps for subsequent rounds. As runners push through the darkness and grueling conditions, only one will emerge victorious by completing an entire lap without being accompanied by another competitor.
Registration opens from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on race day, followed by a briefing at 11:45 AM before the start of the event. The competition continues until just two runners remain and one successfully completes their loop solo within an hour.
With a maximum capacity of 120 participants, this exclusive experience costs DKK 295 (plus a DKK 15 online handling fee), which covers accommodation at the shelter area or personal camping setup as well as access to water and toilet facilities. Entry fees are non-refundable but can be transferred to another runner.
