Lucifer's Crossing

About the Event

Lucifer's Crossing takes place on Sunday, 31 May 2026 at the old Y Camp in Robert Treman State Park, Ithaca, New York. This event offers half marathon (13.2 miles), 10K (approximately 6.66 miles), and 5K (3.3 miles) distances on some of the finest scenery and flowing trails in the region. Registration is open on UltraSignup and closes on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.

Course details:

Each distance starts with a 1.5–2 mile rolling ascent of the wooded Rim Trail.
At the top of a historic and steep stone staircase, 5K runners turn left to return on the singletrack Finger Lakes Trail.
10K and half marathon runners drop down through the Lucifer Falls gorge (a majestic amphitheater), take a left up the steep Red Pine Trail, loop back around the historic Old Mill, and finish on the flowing, fast Finger Lakes Trail singletrack.
Half marathoners complete two loops of the 10K course.

Friday, 29 May 2026 – 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM: Early packet pickup at Y Camp staging area
Sunday, 31 May 2026 – 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM: Race day check‑in / packet pickup for half marathon (start at 8:00 AM)
Sunday, 31 May 2026 – 7:45 AM to 8:15 AM: Race day check‑in / packet pickup for 10K (start at 8:30 AM)
Sunday, 31 May 2026 – 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM: Race day check‑in / packet pickup for 5K (start at 9:00 AM)
Course cutoff: 12:30 PM

Parking instructions:

Park along the access road serving the staging area, to the right off Route 13 South, approximately ½ mile up from the split with Route 34.
Stay left at the opening split, proceed approximately ½ mile, and begin parking behind the cone on the right shoulder as far in as possible and safe.
The Y Camp area is ahead to the left — that is where you will check in and where the start and finish are located.

Refund policy:

No refunds. However, entries can be rolled into another Red Newt Racing event (same year or next year) if requested at least 30 days before the race.
No refunds or rollovers for notifications within 30 days of the event.
