The Lunartic (Lunar-tic) 5K run/walk is a nighttime event held on the eve of a full moon (or near full moon) along the beautiful shoreline of the Smithville Lake trails. The name was derived from the craziness of running under a full moon! This is a fun, family-friendly event. It is recommended to bring a headlamp or flashlight as it does get very dark under the tree canopy. This chip-timed race will be run point-to-point beginning at the Smoke and Davey trailhead and ending at Sailboat Cove. DO NOT park at the start. There is ample parking at the finish and runners will be shuttled to the start line via school bus. The last bus will leave for the starting line at 8:20pm.
We are again offering the team (5 runners) option this year. You can select to run as an individual or set up/join an existing team.
The registration fee is $30 if you are registered before midnight July 30. Registration increases to $40 at packet pickup. T-shirts are only guaranteed to those registered before July 20. Because expenses are paid months in advance, there will be no refunds for weather or a forced cancellation by the county or state of Missouri.
Who does Lunartic 5K benefit?
Proceeds from this event benefit the Smithville High School cross country team. We appreciate your support! If you would like to make an extra donation to help the team, you will have an opportunity to do so at registration.
Entry Fee
$30.00 if pre-registered (by midnight July 30)
