Welcome to Magnolia Gravel Galore Year 9, an exhilarating adventure for all cycling enthusiasts! This year’s route promises to be as thrilling as ever, with its scenic landscapes and challenging terrains. The event will take place on Saturday, September 12th, starting at 9 am after a rider meeting at 8:45 am. The course stretches over two distances—34 miles and 57 miles. Both routes begin by marking you through the picturesque gravel lanes that lead towards downtown Magnolia. The first few miles offer flat terrain before ascending gently to State Route 183, where riders turn right into a half-mile stretch of smooth pavement. The main challenge awaits as you approach mile 26 on both courses. A series of cyclocross gates with ribbon markings guide you onto doubletrack gravel climbs that eventually drop down into sandy areas and then funnel through an abandoned towpath. At the end, you’ll make a sharp right turn towards the equestrian park, navigating challenging narrow paths before emerging back onto your first stretch of gravel road. The 57-mile route takes you further to Lake Mohawk, where you navigate around a private property that houses a school for special needs children. This section is not only visually stunning but also offers unique riding experiences with doubletrack gravel lanes and technical turns. Don’t forget to slow down in areas marked by signs indicating the need for caution due to S-curves. After Lake Mohawk, both routes merge back onto paved roads before crossing through Atwood Lake’s scenic walking path. This section is particularly beautiful but requires careful navigation due to its technical nature. The final leg of your journey brings you back into gravel country and leads you through Magnolia's evergreen nurseries until the finish line. The event promises a memorable experience with live music, food, and drinks awaiting participants at the post-race celebration. Keep an eye on emails and social media for any last-minute updates as race day approaches. If you have questions or need assistance during the event, feel free to contact Chris Smith directly using his number: 330-904-2650. We can't wait to see old friends and meet new ones at Magnolia Gravel Galore Year 9!
