WELCOME TO THE 2026 DURHAM RIVERFRONT CYCLING CLASSIC! Mark your calendars for this epic ride through the heart of North Carolina. The Durham Riverfront Cycling Classic is set to return with an unforgettable experience, spanning a challenging yet rewarding 125 miles from downtown Raleigh to historic Durham. The route promises fast and flat terrain, offering cyclists breathtaking views of the city's skyline and picturesque riverbanks. With three strategic rest stops every 40 miles, riders can refuel and rehydrate while maintaining their pace. The race is not just about speed; it’s a celebration of endurance and camaraderie among fellow cyclists. SYNC YOUR WATCHES FOR THE BIG DAY! Race organizers have meticulously planned for your safety and comfort with a strict schedule to ensure everyone reaches the finish line on time. Buses will transport riders back from Bridgehampton High School by 1:30 PM, so keep an eye on your pace. Missing this cutoff means you'll be SAG'd (Self-Aided Group), requiring solo navigation through the remaining miles. The core of what made last year's ride special remains intact—high-spirited and full of adventure. This year, event organizers have introduced a few upgrades to make the experience even smoother and safer for all participants. Buckle up; this is your roadmap to glory! REGISTRATION IS CRUCIAL No registration means no ride! Every participant must register in advance, with e-bikes strictly prohibited due to safety regulations. A tiered pricing system accommodates various budgets while covering rising costs. This event is insured by USA Cycling, ensuring adherence to their guidelines for a safe and enjoyable experience. Unregistered riders will embark on a solo mission without support services or post-ride amenities. However, registered cyclists receive a wristband as your all-access pass to the classic’s magic—no band means no service, fun, or exceptions! POST-RIDE GLORY BUS After crossing the finish line, enjoy a chartered bus ride back to Raleigh's Grand Army Plaza. Long Island riders can store their bikes under the bus with two blankets for protection. Seats are limited; secure your spot early! For questions, contact [email protected] POST-RIDE FEAST Celebrate like champions at Harlem’s own Chef Quie, featuring Charles Pan Fried Chicken (vegetarian options available). No wristband? No meal. This is a registered rider-only event. PERSONAL SAG HEROES Show your support as a Personal SAG vehicle driver! These dedicated volunteers must register for free and attend a mandatory volunteer meeting on September 3 at 7:30 PM to coordinate effectively. Register now, or risk missing out!
