Malcolm Cup XC

About the Event

The annual Running Festival invites runners of all ages and abilities to join us for an exciting day filled with competitive spirit and camaraderie. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque town, this festival features races designed specifically for young athletes as well as seasoned competitors.
Registration begins at 10:30 AM on race day, allowing ample time for participants to collect their bibs and get ready for the events ahead. The youngest runners kick off the festivities with the Under-13 Boys & Girls Mile Race starting promptly at 11:30 AM. This is followed by the Under-15 Boys & Girls event at 11:50 AM, where participants will tackle a two-mile course through scenic local streets and paths.
For those in the Under-17 category, another two-mile race starts at 12:15 PM, providing an opportunity for older juniors to showcase their talents. As the day progresses, women of all ages take center stage with a three-mile run beginning at 12:40 PM, offering both competitive and recreational runners a chance to shine.
The festival culminates in the Malcolm Cup race at 1:30 PM, where male competitors from various age groups will face off over a challenging four-mile course. This event promises thrilling competition as athletes navigate through varied terrain that includes hills and flat stretches.
All participants are encouraged to collect their prizes directly after each race by visiting the administration desk near the finish line. Alternatively, awards can be forwarded to individuals or teams at a later time if they cannot attend immediately following the races.
Entries for this year's Running Festival will remain open until midnight on Monday, November 2nd, 2026, giving runners plenty of opportunity to secure their spots and prepare for an unforgettable day of running.

About Belfast

Learn more about the host city, Belfast.

Scenic view of

Belfast is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. Most of it historically lay in County Antrim west of the River Lagan, with about a third on the east bank in County Down, but it's always been governed as a separate metropolis, with a population in 2024 of about 671,000. It's had a troubled history but is nowadays safe to visit and has the best-developed visitor facilities in Northern Ireland. And its situation means that Belfast can confidently claim to be the most fascinating city in both the United Kingdom and on the island of Ireland.
