Nestled along the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the Beneva Montreal Marathon is an annual autumn spectacle that draws runners from across North America and beyond. This iconic race offers several distance options: a full marathon (42 km), half-marathon (21 km), 10 km, and 5 km events, along with shorter races for kids including "The Mile" at 1.6 km. What sets this event apart is its vibrant atmosphere and stunning scenery. Participants traverse through the heart of Montreal, from one island to another via picturesque bridges like the Pont de la Concorde. The course winds through diverse neighborhoods, parks, and along waterways, offering a blend of urban landscapes and natural beauty. Highlights include Parc Jean-Drapeau, the bustling Boulevard Saint-Laurent, known locally as "The Main," and charming green spaces such as Parc La Fontaine. For those choosing longer distances, the marathon route includes multiple passes through vibrant city areas like Chinatown and Little Italy, providing a taste of Montreal's rich cultural tapestry. The race concludes near downtown, where runners can explore more of this dynamic metropolis or relax in one of its many cafes and restaurants. Beyond the run itself, visitors can immerse themselves in local attractions such as Mount Royal for panoramic views, Old Montreal with its historic architecture, and the underground city—a unique subterranean network essential during winter months. The event also supports charitable initiatives through the "From the Heart to the Race" program, making it a meaningful experience both on and off the track. Join thousands of runners each October in one of Canada's most celebrated running events, where every step is an adventure along Montreal’s diverse streets and scenic parks.

About Montréal
Learn more about the host city, Montréal.
Montreal is the largest city in the province of Quebec, the second-largest in Canada, and the eighth-largest in North America. Founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary", it now takes its name from Mount Royal, the triple-peaked mountain around which the early settlement was built. The city is centred on the Island of Montreal and a few, much smaller, peripheral islands, the largest of which is Île Bizard. It lies 196 kilometres (122 mi) east of the national capital, Ottawa, and 258 kilometres (160 mi) southwest of the provincial capital, Quebec City.
