Experience the thrill of Master the Journey, a unique youth-focused mountain biking event dedicated to enhancing the lives of those with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). This family-friendly race offers an exceptional opportunity for young cyclists aged U19, U17, and U15 to compete on a picturesque course that spans approximately 7 miles. Participants in both U19 and U17 categories will tackle the challenging terrain of two laps, while younger competitors in the U15 category will navigate one lap. A current USA Cycling race license is required for those aged U19 and U17; however, a temporary one-day license can be purchased during registration or accessed through other licensing options available on the USA Cycling website. Safety and enjoyment are paramount at Master the Journey. Helmets must be worn throughout your ride to ensure everyone's safety. The event also enforces strict rules against drug use, alcohol consumption, and tobacco products—ensuring a positive experience for all attendees. Race positions will be determined by Colorado High School Cycling League (Colorado League) rankings from the 2025 season, with priority given to varsity riders who register by August 5th, 2026. Riders without league rankings or those registering after this date will secure their spots based on early registration order. Master the Journey not only provides a platform for young athletes but also supports T1D communities through fundraising efforts directed toward the Children’s Diabetes Foundation's Helping Hand Program. Participants can expect to contribute directly to alleviating financial burdens faced by families dealing with T1D, as expenses related to this condition often exceed national averages significantly. Following the races, there will be a Fun-Ride area open for all attendees (pre-registration required), allowing everyone to enjoy the trails in a relaxed setting. This event is designed to promote healthy living through action sports while raising awareness and support for T1D families. Join us at Master the Journey and experience firsthand how mountain biking can enhance both physical health and mental well-being, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
