About the Event

Experience the exhilarating Harvard 19k Time Trial, set against the backdrop of scenic Flat Iron Road. This race invites both seasoned and novice cyclists to traverse familiar yet challenging routes that weave through the tranquil countryside just south of Harvard, Illinois.
The course begins on Flat Iron Rd (Hwy 16), where you'll start your journey along a flat stretch before heading southwest towards Angling Rd. As you approach Mill Rd, prepare for an exciting turnaround point that will test your endurance and pacing skills. The return trip is a mirror image of the outbound route, leading back to the finish line on Flat Iron Rd.
Signage will guide you throughout the course, with clear markers at key points including the start/finish line and turnarounds. For safety reasons, always ride right, especially when navigating intersections where traffic may be present. A rear red blinking light is highly recommended for visibility in various lighting conditions.
The Harvard 19k Time Trial offers a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area while competing against yourself or others on this meticulously designed course. Whether you're aiming for personal bests, or simply enjoying the ride with like-minded enthusiasts, there’s something here for everyone.
To participate, ensure your bike meets the Road Bike category requirements: drop or straight handlebars (no tri-bars), no disc wheels or wheel covers, and both front and rear wheels must have at least 12 spokes each. The maximum rim depth allowed is 90mm; "TT" helmets are not permitted.
Race day registration opens at 7:30 AM on-site at the East Shelter in Milky Way Park (700 Lawrence Rd, Harvard, IL 60033). Detailed start lists and results will be available via a shared Google spreadsheet for your convenience. Don’t miss out on claiming your spot among the top riders—prizes await!
For those looking to join or renew their membership, ABR offers affordable options: $10 annual youth memberships ($5 one-day), $25 adult memberships (also $5 one-day) and free memberships for participants 80 years of age and older.
