Experience Herscher's vibrant community as you pedal through its picturesque town park and surrounding streets. The race offers two exciting categories: Road Bike or TT (Time Trial) Bike, ensuring there’s something for every cyclist. Navigate the 25-kilometer course twice to cover a total distance of 50 kilometers. Marked by three corners in one lap and seven in another, this challenging yet rewarding route promises thrilling turns and exhilarating straightaways. Whether you're racing against the clock or competing with other cyclists, the diverse terrain will keep your adrenaline pumping. For those looking for an inclusive event, the Road Bike category welcomes both drop-bar and straight-handlebar bikes, adhering to specific rules such as no tri-bars or disc wheels. The maximum rim depth is set at 90 millimeters, ensuring a fair competition environment. This category encourages participation by accommodating racers who might not have access to TT bikes. Prizes await the fastest riders in both categories—men and women—and merchandise rewards will be given out to top performers. Joining the event requires an active ABR (Association of Bicycle Racers) membership, which can be purchased online for a nominal fee or on the day of the race at reduced rates. Membership details are as follows: - Youth: Ages 18 and under - $5.00 one-day membership - Adults: Ages 19 to 79 - $10.00 one-day membership Participants aged 80 years and older can enjoy free entry for both annual and single-day memberships. Herscher, IL, Town Park is the perfect venue with its historic charm and open spaces. The race will take place at the intersection of Herscher Road and E. Front Street, easily accessible via Interstate 57 Exit Court St/IL-17 West. Detailed directions are provided to guide you to the registration point. Safety measures include riding on the right side of the road and using a rear red blinking light for visibility.
