About the Event

On December 6, 2026, the Raue Center for the Arts in Crystal Lake, Illinois will host a festive run and walk event featuring both a 5K race and a one-mile fun run. The event kicks off at 9:00 AM with the start of the 5K course, followed closely by the shorter distance option beginning at 9:10 AM.
Participants in the 5K will have the chance to don Santa suits or specially designed race shirts as they navigate through scenic Crystal Lake neighborhoods and along its picturesque waterfront. The route is carefully planned to offer runners a mix of flat terrain, making it ideal for all skill levels while still providing an engaging challenge.
For younger racers, there's also a free 50-yard dash event starting at 9:45 AM exclusively designed for kids under the age of 12. This fun addition allows families to enjoy quality time together and celebrate the holiday spirit in a unique way.
Organized by McHenry County Races Foundation, this event aims to enhance community partnerships while raising funds for local agencies supporting those in need within McHenry County. It's an opportunity not only to get active but also to contribute positively to your community during the holiday season.
The race promises a warm and welcoming atmosphere with all proceeds going towards making a difference in the lives of many through various charitable initiatives supported by the foundation. Whether you're looking for a spirited way to start off December or simply want to enjoy some family-friendly activities, this event offers something special for everyone involved.
