Online registration closes the Monday before the race. Late registration is available at either packet pickup location. Details are on the race website.
Now in its fourth year, your kiddos will get to rip up some trails in their own race at Mesquite. We will have them head out on the Competitive Track trails (all to themselves) on an out-and-back style run that’ll total about 1.5 miles. The run will be $8 and is an actual race distance listed on the registration button within Ultrasignup’s website. Registration for the kids include their own kid’s bib, finishers token/medal and option to purchase a kid’s tech shirt with Mesquite Canyon logo on it.
The Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs take place on rugged, single track trail with significant challenging climbs, incredible views, steep descents, large boulders, rocks, and desert vegetation. The courses offer a challenging but rewarding experience for all, from the beginning trail runner to the most experienced ultra marathoner. The 50 Mile & 50 Km courses are designed for experienced trail runners since they travel through a hazardous (but incredibly awesome) section of trail/wash down Ford Canyon. Here, 50 Mile & 50 Km participants will be required to execute some downhill rock scrambling over the famed “White Tank” rock formations.

In an effort to continually lessen our race footprint, we are expanding our cupless events to the Desert Runner Trail Series. We will have UltrAspire reusable cups available at registration and on race day or feel free to bring your own!

Waddell is an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States, northwest of Phoenix. Waddell is named after Donald Ware Waddell, a native of Ohio, who was a partner in the New York City investment firm Brandon, Gordon, and Waddell. This firm organized the private financing for construction of the dam for the water reclamation project that creates Lake Pleasant. The intended Waddell town site was laid out by Donald Waddell in 1935, on property he owned on the northeast corner of Waddell Road and Cotton Lane. Waddell moved to the area to oversee the firm's interests in the project. He served on the board of the Maricopa Water District and invested in land through his interests in the Arizona Citrus Land Company and the Waddell Ranch Company.
