Metro Aberdeen Dyce Half Marathon

The Metro Aberdeen Dyce Half Marathon, organized by the Metro Aberdeen Running Club, invites runners of all levels for an exhilarating race along the scenic Formartine and Buchan Way. Scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, at 10:00 am, this half marathon begins at Pitmedden Playing Field in Dyce with a picturesque out-and-back course.
Registration fees are £17 for members of the Scottish Athletics League (SAL) and £20 for non-SAL participants. Entries close on August 21st; if the event reaches its capacity limit, interested runners can join a waiting list until this date.
In addition to the half marathon, the race includes free junior races designed specifically for young athletes:
- A two-mile run for those aged 14 to 16
- An 800-meter dash for participants between 11 and 13 years old
- A fun run for children under ten
Upon crossing the finish line, all runners will receive a unique memento. Over-18s can enjoy a refreshing Fierce Beer, complemented by an assortment of snacks.
Water stations are strategically placed along the route to ensure participants stay hydrated during their journey. Post-race refreshments and recovery food will also be available at the event location.
Prizes for both male and female finishers in first through third places await those who excel on race day. Additionally, age category winners (40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, and 80+) will be recognized for their achievements.
For the junior races, individual prizes are awarded to male and female champions in each distance category: two-mile run, 800-meter dash, and under-10 fun run. These awards celebrate the efforts of young athletes participating in this family-friendly event.
Race day registration takes place at the Scout Hut up until fifteen minutes before the start time. Changing facilities are available at Dyce Boys Club hut during race hours; however, runners should be aware that organizers do not take responsibility for lost items or equipment left unattended.
Transfers of entries to another person can be made through Entry Central by midnight on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026. E-mail the Race Director once a transfer is completed and approved online.
