Mindy Creek Trail Races

Nestled along the serene banks of Mindy Creek near St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, the Mindy Creek Trails Races offer runners an unforgettable blend of scenic beauty and challenging terrain. The race takes place on August 29th, 2026, starting at the Polk County Information Center located just off Highway 35.
The event features three distinct distances: a marathon, half marathon, and 10K run, each designed to cater to various levels of experience while showcasing the diverse landscapes around St. Croix Falls. Runners will encounter a mix of single-track trails, rolling hills, bridges over sparkling streams, and stretches on both gravel and paved surfaces.
Registration for this year's event opens on November 28th, 2025, with early bird pricing available until December 2nd or when the first 50 runners sign up. The registration process closes online on August 19th, 2026, at which point any remaining spots will be filled via race-day sign-ups. Due to limited capacity and logistical considerations, there are no refunds or deferrals.
The marathon begins promptly at 7:00 a.m., with participants covering the half-marathon course twice over the span of nearly 18 miles. Aid stations, featuring full services at key intervals as well as water-only stops along the way, help ensure runners stay hydrated and fueled throughout their journey. The race is designed to have a cut-off time of seven hours from start to finish.
The half marathon follows closely behind at 7:05 a.m., taking on a lollipop-shaped course that winds through over nine miles of single-track trails before returning to the starting point by 5 p.m. Aid stations along this route provide similar support, with full services and water-only options strategically placed for optimal hydration.
For those seeking a shorter but equally scenic adventure, the 10K race starts at 7:10 a.m., offering runners an out-and-back course that combines two miles of single-track trail, two miles on paved pathways, one mile on gravel trails, and another on grassy terrain. The turnaround point is conveniently marked with water-only aid.
All participants will receive commemorative prints upon crossing the finish line, celebrating their achievement alongside top male and female winners in each category who are awarded special recognition at the event.
Parking for all runners is available at the Polk County Information Center lot, where race-day registration can also be handled. The center itself provides access to restrooms before and during the race, ensuring a smooth experience from start to finish.
