Mingus Mayhem

Immerse yourself in the scenic trails of Mingus Park during Coos Bay’s unique ultra adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned local or an out-of-town visitor looking for a November challenge, this race offers miles filled with natural beauty and tranquility.
Choose from two engaging options: the full 9-hour event or opt for a more relaxed afternoon run that lasts around 2 hours. The longer option features multiple laps over rolling terrain, while the shorter version allows you to savor the park’s trails in an intimate setting before heading out together to unwind at the nearby 7 Devils Brewery.
Each lap covers approximately 1.12 miles with about 140 feet of elevation gain, blending roughly 30% paved paths and 70% unpaved routes consisting of double-track trail and gravel roads lightly used by park visitors. The course is easily navigable in road shoes but feel free to adapt based on weather conditions.
This event is entirely complimentary, so bring your own supplies such as fuel and hydration packs for a comfortable day out. A large water jug will be provided at the race site along with picnic tables under one of Mingus Park’s gazebos serving as base camp for shelter from any weather changes.
