Mochas and Marshmallows Kids Run returns to Calgary, Alberta on October 3rd in a beloved tradition that has grown since its inception. This fun run takes place at Edworthy Park, a green oasis just off Centre Street SW, where children of all ages gather for the festivities.
On race morning, runners will find themselves amidst the familiar sights and sounds of autumn. Early October brings a crisp 4 to 12 degrees Celsius, with light winds making it feel like an ideal day to be outdoors. The park is bustling as families arrive in droves to participate or cheer on their children from the sidelines.
For over ten years now, this event has been more than just a race; it's a community celebration of childhood and inclusivity. Thousands have participated annually, each child receiving a medal, hot chocolate, and cinnamon buns upon crossing the finish line. This year’s lineup features four distinct distances—1km for those under five, 2km loops for ages six to nine, and a full 3km race for ten to fourteen-year-olds.
The course is well-marked with signs indicating each lap. Participants will start at Edworthy Park's main entrance on Centre Street SW, where they’ll begin their journey along the park’s pathways before looping back. Aid stations will be set up throughout the course, ensuring children have a safe and enjoyable run experience.

Bib pickup will take place on-site from 2:30pm - 4:30pm at Edworthy Park. Please ensure race bibs are worn ON THE FRONT of your child so we can easily identify them and they collect their medal, hot chocolate, and treat immediately after the run. Bring a mug for your child's hot chocolate to enjoy post-race.
Participants should arrive on-site no later than 2:45pm before each wave start time. The parking lot will be busy; please obey all signs and park as directed by event staff.
