Monross Trailblazers - Blaze the Biblins

Monross Trailblazers presents Blaze the Biblins, set to return on Sunday, October 11, 2026. This trail race takes place within one of Britain's most stunning Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), offering a challenging yet picturesque course for runners.
The event features two entry options: £15 for affiliated members and £17 for unaffiliated participants. The route is meticulously designed by runners, ensuring it caters to all skill levels with its mix of climbs, flat sections, and technical single-track terrain. Starting near the Doward Youth Campsite, the race winds through ancient woodland, passes historic Ironworks, and follows picturesque riverbanks before tackling the infamous Demon hill climb. The descent that follows leads to a rewarding finish.
The course will be fully marked with signs and marshals along the way, providing guidance throughout your run. A mid-point water station is available for hydration needs, and first aid cover ensures safety during the event. Upon crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to receiving a momento and enjoying tea and cake at race headquarters.
Blaze the Biblins spans approximately 6 miles (10k) on hard trails, single tracks, and unmade ground. The route is signposted and marshalled but runners are responsible for their own safety during the event. Trail shoes are recommended to navigate the varied terrain effectively; make sure you have trained appropriately for both the race distance and expected weather conditions.
The event welcomes all runners aged 17 years or older on race day, with a total entry limit of 200 participants. Once full capacity is reached, interested runners will be placed on a waiting list. Should any spots become available due to withdrawals, those on the waitlist will receive notification and an opportunity to secure their place.
Race registration opens at 9:00am on race day and closes 15 minutes before the start time of 11:00am. Registration takes place at Biblins Youth Campsite in Doward, Ross-on-Wye (HR9 6DX). Toilet facilities are available but there are no shower or washing facilities provided onsite. Kit bags can be left unattended at Race HQ for safekeeping throughout the event duration; however, organisers cannot guarantee their safety.
Parking is limited near race headquarters, so carpooling and adhering to parking marshals' instructions are encouraged. Avoid blocking public roads by parking on the roadside.
Runners must assemble 10 minutes before the start time for a pre-race briefing at the starting line. Prizes will be awarded to overall male and female finishers in first through third places, as well as age group winners. For an added twist this year, teams of three can compete for team prizes in both men's and women’s categories.
