Monster Mash

Monster Mash returns to Batavia, Illinois on October 4th for its third year of running. The race will take place in the historic downtown area near the heart of the city. Participants can start their journey at the intersection of Main Street and First Avenue, surrounded by small shops and local eateries.
Race morning will find runners and walkers gathered along the crisp autumn streets as they anticipate the event's energy-filled atmosphere. The park where the 5K run/walk begins is filled with colorful trees and an inviting sense of community. Participants can expect a festive pre-race packet pickup from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing them ample time to prepare.
Monster Mash has grown significantly since its inception in 2023, attracting nearly double the number of participants each year while raising funds for local scholarships and community programs. This event not only celebrates a love for running but also supports Batavia's youth through education initiatives.
The race offers both an adult 10K run and a family-friendly 5K run/walk, with additional opportunities for kids to participate in their own race. The course winds through the city, offering scenic views of residential neighborhoods before leading back to downtown.
At the start line, runners will find themselves on Main Street, where they can warm up while enjoying the pre-race atmosphere. The 5K route includes a mix of smooth asphalt and slightly hilly terrain, providing a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all participants. Along the way, there are two water stations to keep everyone hydrated.
