Monte's 5K

On October 10, 2026, Seaside, California welcomes runners to the Monte's 5K, an integral part of RAFT Weekend celebrations. The race kicks off at 9:00 AM from the Otter Student Union area on Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB) Campus grounds. Participants will traverse a breathtaking course that highlights CSUMB’s stunning landscape, including its iconic landmarks and expansive athletic fields.
The atmosphere is electric as runners gather along lush pathways near the Otter Student Union, where community spirit and anticipation fill the air. On race day, mild weather with temperatures ranging from 11.9°C to 22.5°C (feels like 17.2°C) will be accompanied by a gentle breeze of about 7 km/h and moderate UV levels.
Runners begin their journey at this vibrant hub before weaving through campus highlights such as the Otter Student Union, athletic fields, and other scenic spots. The race concludes with an uplifting finish line celebration right back where it started, offering participants a memorable experience.
Registration is essential; fees are $39.44 until August 31st, increasing to $40 thereafter. CSUMB students can register free by presenting their Student ID along with the promo code "CSUMBSTUDENT2026". Participants under 12 years old are welcome as untimed runners but must bring a waiver form.
Bibs will be distributed during pre-race pickup on October 9th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Otter Student Union. All participants need to present photo ID for verification purposes, and strollers and service animals are permitted; however, strollers should stay towards the end of the race.
This unique event supports student scholarships while offering a beautiful campus setting that runners of all ages can enjoy. It’s an opportunity to contribute financially toward education, foster community engagement, and build camaraderie among participants.
