Montgomery River Run 2026

The Montgomery River Run 2026 returns to Montgomery, Illinois on October 3rd, offering runners a chance to support local charities while enjoying the scenic routes around the city.
Participants will gather at Montgomery Village Hall on North River Street for race morning. The atmosphere is calm and focused as athletes prepare under the clear blue skies of early autumn in central Illinois. Temperatures hover near average with highs reaching 20.5 degrees Celsius, lows dipping to 10.2 degrees, creating a comfortable environment perfect for both seasoned runners and newcomers.
The event has been running since its inception, providing continuous support through local foundations focused on health, conservation, and community engagement. In the past years, it has drawn hundreds of participants who contribute significantly to raising funds for the Fox Valley Park Foundation and Oswegoland Park Foundation. The course takes runners through Montgomery’s picturesque neighborhoods, starting from River Street and weaving its way through established trails with firm yet slightly soft surfaces underfoot. Additionally, kids aged 6-14 can join in the fun during the Kids Dash starting at 8:00 AM followed by the adult races shortly after. An upgrade for children’s race shirts is available for just $17.51 and must be added when registering online.
