Moonlight Chase

Moonlight Chase returns to Eldridge, Iowa on July 11th, 2026 at North Second Street in the heart of downtown.
The event takes place under the moonlit sky along the streets and parks of Eldridge, a small town where the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. On race morning, participants can expect crisp air as early dawn breaks over Iowa’s rolling hills. The route meanders through the local parklands, offering scenic views that are particularly enchanting in the soft light of twilight.
Moonlight Chase has been running for six years now, supporting a community scholarship with each passing edition. Over 200 participants have joined in recent events, making it one of Eldridge’s most anticipated annual gatherings. The race benefits local students and fosters a sense of unity among residents as they gather to support their community.
The course venue is the North Second Street park, where runners will experience a mix of paved paths and grassy areas. The terrain is hard and dry due to recent weather conditions, ensuring smooth running throughout. The 4-mile certified run offers an engaging challenge with several notable features including a gradual uphill section followed by a downhill sprint towards the finish line.
Participants can also opt for the 1-Mile Youth Run/Walk or the 0.25 Mile Youth Fun Run, both of which are perfect for younger runners and their families. The course layout includes two aid stations positioned strategically to keep participants hydrated throughout the race distance. Elevation changes are minimal, making it suitable for all skill levels.
