❤️ About the Event
The Mother’s Day REXTRAVAGANZA supports:
Rex Runs Kindly & NAMI of Rockland
This event is about community, compassion, and showing up for ourselves and each other. There are no winners and no losers. Everyone is welcome!!
🏞️ A Unique & Historic Course
Clausland Mountain is more than a beautiful trail — it’s a historic Cold War site, once home to a Nike missile silo designed to protect New York City.
Today, the same ground that once symbolized fear and defense now represents movement, healing, and peace — a powerful setting for a run rooted in mental health and reflection.
💧 Aid Stations
2 fully manned aid stations total
👕 What You Get
All participants receive:
🎶 Event Atmosphere
We’re AIMING to have live acoustic music to create a relaxed, uplifting vibe at the start/finish area — something that feels more like a community gathering than a traditional race. (If all goes as planned)
🌼 Why the Day Before Mother’s Day?
This event honors mothers, caregivers, and the people who show up for us — including those we’ve lost, those we run for, and those still fighting quiet battles.
Come run, walk, or loop your way through a meaningful morning on the trails — where every mile supports mental health, sobriety, and kindness.

These values represent the 3-year monthly averages for May in Orangeburg.
Orangeburg is a city in South Carolina. This town that started as a trading post between settlers and Native Americans in 1704 became a hotbed of tension and activism during the Civil Rights movement, culminating in the infamous Orangeburg Massacre on February 8, 1968 when local police opened fire and killed three students and injured many others. On a positive note, today the town boasts two historically black colleges, one of which holds a designation as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the state and premier historic black colleges in the country. Orangeburg has a little bit of a crime problem, so do not be too lax about reckless decisions in your affairs.
