Mountain Fair 4-Miler Run
Experience the heart of the mountains with the Mountain Fair 4-Miler run, an iconic race that weaves through scenic Prince Creek Road and culminates at Sopris Park. Starting promptly at 9am, this event is designed to cater to both runners and families alike, offering a mix of challenging terrain and community spirit. Registration costs $40 for adults, while kids under 12 can join for free. Early registrants will also receive a complimentary Mountain Fair T-Shirt as part of the first 50 sign-ups.
The race begins approximately halfway between the "Bullpen" parking area and the winter gate on Prince Creek Road, where pavement meets dirt. Participants wind their way down Prince Creek Road before heading into town along Highway 133 to reach the finish line at Sopris Park. For those utilizing public transportation, shuttles will depart from Sopris Park at 8:15am, providing convenient access to the start location.
While there is no designated parking at the starting point, runners can be dropped off by friends or family members if they do not use the shuttle service. Strollers are welcome on the shuttle rides but pets must remain at home for this event. All proceeds from the race go directly towards supporting Carbondale Arts, ensuring that your participation contributes to enriching local arts and culture.
