Mulholland Under the Stars Trail Race

Experience the Mulholland Under the Stars Trail Race on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park in Tarzana, California. This unique night trail race offers runners a chance to explore the park's scenic fire roads under the glow of headlamps and flashlights.
Registration opens with early bird pricing that increases on September 1st and October 1st; all fees include taxes and processing charges. The event features two distances: a challenging 5K and an exhilarating 10K, both starting from the trailhead lot at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park. Bib pick-up begins at 4:00 PM for the 10K participants and moves to 4:30 PM for those competing in the 5K.
The race kicks off promptly with a start time of 5:30 PM for the 10K runners, followed by the 5K group starting at 5:45 PM. All racers must adhere to an 8:00 PM cutoff time, ensuring that everyone completes their course safely within the designated hours.
Safety is paramount during this event, and all participants are required to carry a fully operational headlamp or flashlight for the duration of their race. Race officials will verify each runner's lighting equipment at bib pick-up; failure to comply with this requirement means no start time allocation. The Mulholland Running Club Alliance (MRCA) mandates that runners without proper lighting cannot begin.
Support on course is well-placed, offering aid stations at mile 1.5 and 3.1 for both races, where water and other essentials are available. Sweepers will be positioned ahead of the pack, mid-pack, and behind to ensure no runner gets left out in the dark. Medical assistance is stationed strategically at start/finish as well as along key points on the course.
Restroom facilities are limited to porta-potties located solely at the Start/Finish area. Participants should plan accordingly for their comfort throughout the race.
Upon crossing the finish line, all runners will receive a commemorative medal and race shirt, available for pickup immediately after completing their respective distances.
The event adheres strictly to Leave No Trace principles; participants are encouraged to carry out any trash they generate during the run. Volunteers will provide bins at start/finish areas or collect waste directly from racers if needed. Course markings will be removed following the conclusion of the race, ensuring a pristine park environment for future use.
